Karaoke Night in Westchester
Karaoke at BARROOM is not the karaoke you remember from a basement bar in college. It is a cocktail room with a microphone in it. The lights stay low, the bar stays busy, and the song list runs from Whitney Houston to Tame Impala to whatever someone's birthday demands at 11 PM.
The room holds it together because of the size. It is intimate. You can see the person singing. They can see you. Applause sounds like applause, not like background noise from a venue too big to care. People come up between songs to thank strangers for nailing the high notes. Tables push together by the third song.
The night usually warms up around 7:30 PM with the early crowd ordering the first round and skimming the song book. By 8 PM the host has the rotation moving. Most weeks, the first three singers set the tone for the rest of the night. If they are confident, the room is confident. If they are nervous, someone always steps up to duet. By 9:30 PM the rotation is wall-to-wall and the bar is two deep.
Birthdays show up here. Bachelorettes show up here. The we-just-got-promoted dinner turns into the we-just-got-promoted karaoke set. The room handles all of it because the bartenders treat a karaoke night the same way they treat a Friday cocktail service. The drinks come fast, the glassware is right, and the menu does not change just because someone is on stage doing Bohemian Rhapsody.
People drive in from White Plains, Rye, and the Greenwich corridor for it. The reason they come back is the cocktail program. There are karaoke bars in the area that pour well drinks and call it a night. BARROOM pours signature cocktails, classics, and teeny 'tinis with the same hands that work the bar Friday and Saturday. The microphone is a feature. The cocktails are the foundation.
By 11 PM the crowd is fully committed. The kitchen is still open. The late-night menu kicks in. The sing list is twenty deep. Last call comes too fast. Walk-ins can almost always find a seat at the bar, but groups of four or more should reserve a table so you can actually hear each other between songs.
Birthdays. Bachelorettes. We got promoted. Wednesdays handle all of it. Reserve a table for groups of 4 or more. We'll save you the front row.
Wednesday Nights at BARROOM
Wednesday is the new Friday for a lot of people. Half the corridor works hybrid now, which means Thursday is a real workday and Wednesday is wide open. BARROOM leaned into it. Karaoke fits a Wednesday because it is participatory. Thursday wants you social. Friday wants you fed. Wednesday wants you on stage.
See happy hour if you want to start early, or check private events if you want the room to yourself on a different night.
