Cheese Boards. Fridays.

Friday at BARROOM has a shape. Doors open at 4 PM. The first cheese boards go out before 4:30. By 5:30 the after-work crowd is at the bar. By 7 PM the date-night tables are seated. By 9 PM the room is full and the night gets its second wind. By 11 PM the kitchen is still going and so is everyone else.

The cheese board is the through-line. It is not a side dish. It is the reason a lot of people book the table. The board is built around three to six selections, mixing soft and hard, mild and sharp, with a charcuterie option that swaps in for one of the cheese slots if you want it. Honey, jam, mustard, olives, almonds, the right bread. Quartered for sharing. Big enough to live on for an hour.

Wine pairings are easy on Friday because the by-the-glass list is built for it. The bartenders will steer you. Reds for the harder cheeses, whites for the bloomy rinds, a sparkling for the table that cannot agree. Cocktails work too. The signature menu has a few that stand up to a cheese course better than a Pinot does. Ask. They will tell you.

The crowd is what makes Friday work. The 4 PM arrivals are the after-work doubles. The 6 PM table is the date that turned into the date that has standing reservations now. The 8 PM eight-top is the friend group that found their way here three months ago and never left. The 10 PM walk-in is the couple that got out of dinner across town and wanted one more drink before going home. BARROOM holds all of those at the same time, in the same room, without anyone feeling like they are in the wrong chapter of the night.

People drive here on Friday because the math works. From Greenwich, twenty minutes. From Rye, ten. From White Plains, fifteen. Manhattan is the alternative, and Manhattan on a Friday is the other Manhattan. Harrison is the version of going out where you actually get home before midnight unless you choose not to.

The kitchen runs late, the bar runs later, the room is yours until close. Reserve if you can. The Friday tables move.

Friday at BARROOM works because the room is built for the long version of an evening. Some bars peak and crash. This one stretches. Doors at 4 PM, kitchen until close, music that shifts gears as the room fills.
